Done waiting for a newspaper that actually gives a damn about LMU students. Done watching stories get buried, softened, or ignored entirely. Done reading coverage that feels like it was written for the administration, not for us.

So we built something new.

The Independent Lion is a student-run, independent newspaper created by students who are fed up, fired up, and ready to work. We report on the stories that actually matter to the LMU community, the ones that make people uncomfortable, the ones that get swept under the rug, the ones that every student is talking about but nobody is covering. We don't answer to the university. We don’t answer to investors. We don't answer to advertisers. We answer to you.

Because that’s what we think a student newspaper is supposed to be.

Got a story? Bring it. Whether it's a campus injustice, a decision being made behind closed doors, or an experience that deserves to be heard, we want it. No story is too small. No truth is too inconvenient.
